Luther and the Apophatic Tradition

Abstract

There has been a growing consensus among Luther scholars that authors of a mystic persuasion were indeed important for Luther’s theological development. This was even emphasized through one of the plenary sections of the congress. This seminar concentrated more specifically on the problem of unknowability in Luther’s thought and his relation to Dionysius and Dionysian spirituality.
