| dc.description.abstract | The design and execution of research required to address the voices of users in psychic health care is the topic of this presentation. The focus is methodological, and attention is devoted to the problems of design, measurement and inter¬pretation that one encounters when attempting to evaluate some of the intended, effects of a large nation-wide social political program.
The program in focus is the National mental health program 1999 – 2008 which is a very complex intervention. It involves large amounts of money, it lasts for almost a decade, and it involves a large number of people – both users and those working in the health care sector, as well as politicians and decision-makers in the whole country. The main goal of the program is to improve the services, both quantitatively and qualitatively, to users with psychic disorders. It is therefore essential that an evaluation addresses the voices of the users to investigate if they experience improvements in the services.
