PPT i foreldrehøyde : inntakssamtalen mellom PP-rådgiver og minoritetsforeldre

Abstract

Masteroppgavens tittel er «PPT i foreldrehøyde», og omhandler PP-rådgiveres første møte med minoritetsforeldre, og om hvordan mening og forståelse søkes i denne inntakssamtalen. Forskning viser viktigheten av interkulturell kompetanse i PPT og at samarbeid med, og forståelsen for, denne gruppen foreldre, er viktig for barnas læring og utvikling. Det teoretiske grunnlaget baserer seg på begrepene kommunikasjon og kultursensitivitet, og gjennom dette vil forskningsspørsmålet om hvordan mening skapes i kommunikasjonen mellom PP-rådgiver og minoritetsforeldre, bli besvart. Data er innhentet gjennom forskningsintervju med fem PP-rådgivere. Det er benyttet semistrukturert intervju for å få fram rådgivernes tanker og refleksjoner. Drøftingen av data viser at det er mye, og god, kompetanse blant rådgiverne. De viser en forståelse og empati for minoritetsforeldre. Samtidig viser dataene at det er veldig ulik praksis, og innholdet i samtalene varierer fra rådgiver til rådgiver. Det er lite felles føringer for hvordan inntakssamtalen med minoritetsforeldre skal gjennomføres. Dette være seg fra invitasjon blir sendt, vurdering av behov for, og bruk av, tolk, anamnese, informasjon om tjenesten, og informasjon om rettigheter og plikter. Rådgiverne ga mye informasjon om hvordan praksisen er i dag, men de hadde også mange tanker, og forslag, til hva som kunne gjøre tjenesten enda mer i foreldrehøyde.

The title of the master's thesis is 'PPT at parental height', and deals with counsellors' first encounters with minority parents, and how meaning and understanding are sought in this intake interview. Research shows the importance of intercultural competence in the PPT and that cooperation with, and understanding of, this group of parents is important for the children's learning and development. The theoretical basis is based on the concepts of communication and cultural sensitivity, and through this the research question about how meaning is created in communication between counsellors and minority parents will be answered. Data was obtained through research interviews with five PPT counsellors. Semi-structured interviews were used to elicit the counsellors' thoughts and reflections. The discussion of data shows that there is a great deal of expertise among counsellors. They show an understanding and empathy for this group of parents. At the same time, the data shows that practice varies, and the content of the conversations varies from adviser to adviser. There are few common guidelines for how the admission interview with minority parents should be conducted. Variations can be seen in the invitation, assessment of the need for, and use of, interpreter, what is included in an anamnesis, information about the service, and information about rights and obligations. The counsellors provided a lot of information about how the practice is today, but they also had many thoughts and suggestions on what could make the service even more at parental height.
