Sammendrag
This article aims to show how preaching to ethnic minority youth, by words as well as by other means, is a challenging task for Christian youth ministry. This task is not limited to invite youths to attend already established fellowships. To overcome the problem, namely that the majority of ethnic minority youth rarely, if at all, approach these fellowships, new strategies should be developed in order to create fellowships that are truly missional. It is argued in this article that preaching has to be interpreted in an inclusive way, but without devaluating the importance of preaching by words. Finally the author reflects on some basic principles of preaching and attempts to relate them to the context of ethnic minority youth. This is done both with reference to the author’s own experience as a missionary in Thailand, as well as with reference to examples taken from the Norwegian context.
