In this article, we focus on the two-sided process of return migration, the process of desexiliation and of re-establishment. Making use of existing literature, we discuss the complexity of repatriation, particularly to Chile. Return migration influences both the returnees and those who stayed in the country of origin. Economical and practical support systems aimed at facilitating exile’s return to Chile have been implemented both in Norway and in Chile. We argue that the complexity of repatriation should influence the policies of return migration.en
